The fight between the Utah football team and Oklahoma State is one of those games that’s been on plenty of people’s schedules for months. The day is almost here and the tilt is getting as much attention as it deserves, considering more than a few onlookers believe it’s likely to provide the frontrunner for the Big 12 title and a path to the playoffs.

One of the most interesting things about the game has been that Vegas can’t seem to decide who it favors to win. While the betting line has always been relatively close, things have switched back and forth quite a bit between the Utes being favored and the Cowboys being the expected victors.

Currently, FanDuel and Draft Kings both have OSU as 2.5-point favorites and that alone is rather newsworthy. There was a time when the Utah football team was favored by about that margin. And the time came just a day or so ago.

Most believe that the whispers that Cam Rising will start for the Utes moved the needle from Okey State being favored to Utah being the odds on favorite. Now, however, the line has shifted back and that has some people wondering what the moves are all about.

One expert, Alex Markham seemed to pinpoint exactly why the line is swinging so wildly.

“My take is that the early swing was because of the continued expectation of Rising playing. The new swing is just because the initial wave of the early swing calmed down and people are just taking the home team,” he wrote on Twitter.

This is almost certainly the correct take. And while some Utah football fans are worried that Cam Rising might actually still be injured, it seems unlikely anything there has changed.
