The Utah football team not only overcame Cam Rising's absence last Saturday but also likely allowed its freshman quarterback to get the kind of experience that will pay off well when this is Isaac Wilson’s team.

Despite a solid win over a decent Utah State team and Wilson’s performance, it should come as no surprise that Ute players, as well as fans are excited to see the senior quarterback return for Oklahoma State. While it’s not official yet, it appears one of Cam Rising’s teammates spilled the beans.

During Monday’s press availability for the Utah football team, wide receiver Dorian Singer made it clear Rising will be back for Saturday’s showdown against Oklahoma State. That’s a big deal since the game between the Utes and Aggies is expected to have a big impact on who wins the Big 12 later this year.

As Josh Furlong pointed out, that Rising was available to the media is a sign. He wasn’t available the week of the Utah State game as Whittingham kept who would start under wraps until Saturday morning.

Utah football getting its big gun back for Big 12 showdown

Despite Wilson playing exceptionally well against the Aggies, it’s no surprise that the Utes want Rising back for this game. After all, he’s been nearly infallible when he has played this season.

Before exiting the game against Baylor, the senior quarterback was putting together a Heisman campaign type season. Despite missing half the game against the Bears and sitting out most of the second half against Southern Utah, Rising has completed 62 percent of his passes for 7 touchdowns, 0 interceptions and 346 yards.

The Utah football game with Cam Rising back will also be interesting in the fact that it will feature two of the oldest quarterbacks in college football. Oklahoma State’s Alan Bownman is having a fantastic season himself, completing 67 percent of his passes for 8 touchdowns, 2 INTs and 967 yards.
