Top Utah football recruit pulls okey doke and picks former conference rival
The Utah football might be getting for its biggest Big 12 game of its new era, but head coach Kyle Whittingham is also trying to rebuild and reload for the future. He’ll have to go in another direction than he had been hoping, at least for now.
The Utes had thought they were in pretty good standing for top in-state prospect Jerome Myles. Especially after the Corner Canyon prospect decommitted from Ole Miss and appeared to be a lean to his home state school.
However, on Wednesday afternoon, the Utah football news got some bad news. Myles picked the USC Trojans. There’s a couple of reasons why that choice added insult on top of injury. Not the least of which being the Utes handled and beat down the Trojans often in the last few years.
There was also the fact that Myles played with his food a bit before announcing his final choice. The 5-star receiver grabbed a Utah hat off the table in front of him, before putting it down and announcing the Trojans were his pick.

It is that second one that is going to annoy more than a few Utes fans. Some have already come out on socla media and voiced their displeasure with that kind of trick.
You might notice that the Utah football team on the other hand is taking it in stride. Perhaps because the fight for Jerome Myles might not be over yet. The receiver has already decommitted once. There’s still several months until December. The fight might not be over just yet.
