It's not really a mystery as to why the Utah football team is going hard after Jerome Myles. But if there were any people who were wondering whether the Corner Canyon wide receiver was worth all the time and attention, he showed them emphatically that the answer is yes on Thursday night.
Myles had a fantastic start to his senior season, scoring a touchdown in Corner Canyon's first game. But that was just the warmup act for this week.
Myles absolutely exploded. And as it turns out, his performance was just enough to lead his team to an upset win over the third-ranked high school football team in the country in IMG. Myles finished the 35-34 win with 5 catches for 125 yards and a whopping three touchdowns.
Utah football moves closer to getting massive talent
Myles has long been one of the top wide receivers in the 2025 class. There was also a time when it was thought he was long gone.
The receiver committed to Ole Miss this winter, but earlier this summer, had second thoughts and went back to being a free agent. Since he decommitted from Lane Kiffin's squad, it's been thought that he was a hard lean toward the Utes.
If Kyle Whittingham can manage to keep him home, it would be quite the coup. There's a long way to go to get Myles to sign on the dotted line. However, if the Utah football team is able to get him to sign on the dotted line come December, they'd be getting one heck of a talent, as he demonstrated on Thursday night.
