A month ago, the top player in the state of Utah reopened his recruitment. This weekend, he showed once again why the Utah football team would desperately like to add the 5-star prospect to its 2025 recruiting class.

Jerome Myles and his Corner Canyon team opened his senior season with a win over American Fork that certainly had plenty of fireworks. The Corner Canyon team, that also has a highly touted quarterback in Helaman Casuga ended up winning a 70-42 shootout.

As has long been the case, Corner Canyon got most of their offense on the ground, though Myles was able to contribute to the win thanks to an 80-yard touchdown reception. The Utah football prospect showed just how much better he is than others on the field in doing so.

Utah football’s top prospect shows off his talent once again

While he was only the beneficiary of one of Casuga’s four touchdown passes, it was a biggie. Corner Canyon was only up 28-21 at the time. And then Jerome Myles took his game to another level.

Myles blew past at least two defenders that were trying to cover him and had them beat by at least 10 yards. Casuga hit Myles in stride and he was able to basically job the rest of the way to the end zone.

Utah football prospect is a free agent again

All of this becomes that much more important because Myles is no longer committed to Ole Miss. The 5-star receiver, who is No. 5 wide receiver in the class, is now a free agent.

It’s a safe bet that Utah, who did just get an official visit from the talented pass-catcher, is going all in on trying to get him to stay home.

There was a time, before he committed to Lane Kiffin and company, that recruiting analysts believed Myles was headed to the Utes. Perhaps he might now actually be looking at taking his talents to Rice-Eccles stadium.

Utah football fans should certainly hope a Kyle Whittingham can lead his team to a Big 12 title and make a case for Jerome Myles to stick close to home.
