The Frilly Bow: Last Week Wrapped Up With A… (well you get it)

For the Spring, last week turned out to be an interesting week…

We had one of our great Hoyo’s Revenge correspondents give us an eyewitness report from spring football practice and some notes about the scrimmage put together with information from several folks who kindly weighed in.  Thanks for all of you who help put together that info.  I think it helps us give a great vision of what’s going on with Ute Football.

George Matthews and Dijon Farr became the latest victims of the Spanish Inquisition err… Larry Krystkowiak’s 2nd annual roster purge.  Hope this one works out because as Script Utah points out in this blog, he won’t be around to see a third.  And both he and Bill Oram have brought out another point, what are the APR penalties going to be for this.  Because as I’ve said all along, this just isn’t right.  We’ve lost 20 players in 3 years and we didn’t even have a hint of scandal.  That shouldn’t escape penalty free.  And I would think running more than a team in two years should warrant scholarship reductions.

The Ute gymnasts won regionals and make their annual trip to nationals.  Its been something like 16 years since a national title however.  If Utah gymnastics was Kentucky basketball we’d be killing Greg Marsden right now.  But somehow we aren’t.  It’s probably a good thing.

Utah Rugby lost to BYU and BYU folks are claiming that Rugby is the new Football.

Ute Baseball dropped 2 of 3 to #4 Arizona in baseball.  Hey at least we got one.

Finally a new feature debuted here at Hoyo’s Revenge called the Touring the Pac-12.  Every so often we take a look at what the other Fansided.com Pac-12 sites are saying.  And judging from the numbers you kids are enjoying it.  Here is the first one and the second one.
