Four star guard Namon Wright has been released from his NLI to Missouri and Utah is a very much in the hunt.
Matthew Piper in the Tribune has a really nice break down.
Remember Ute fans, Brandon Taylor and Wright played on the same high school team and remain good friends. Dakari Tucker is also an L.A. kid and is likely friends with Wright as well. Utah also recruited Wright before and the staff has a relationship with him.
The rumor surfaced once Frank Haith departed Missouri for Tulsa, that Wright would look elsewhere and despite the chagrin of many Missouri fans, including a few that had some choice words for me, that has come to pass.
Despite what Wright said about still considering Missouri, my guess is that he’d still be there if that was the case. Further, Wright does not like the guard situation at UCLA.
So what does it all mean.
Utah has a very good chance at landing this kid which would put together what is likely on paper, the best class ever to come to Utah.
The Pac-12 is pretty sweet.
