So as I read the utah utes football practice reports and chat with people about what is going on during spring ball, I’ve noticed something.

All the other QB’s have good days and bad, flashes of brilliance followed by some not so brilliance, except for Adam Schulz.  It’s not to say Schulz is bad, it’s just that Adam Schulz keeps being Adam Schulz.

And here is what we know about Adam Schulz…

We Can’t Win With Him.

It would seem that all he is doing in camp at this point is taking much needed reps from Cox, Manning and Wilson who is trying to regain his form.  And the last thing we want is him taking reps from Kendal in the fall who just might be our starting QB.

The thing is, if the Utes get to a situation where we’re having Adam Schulz as our starting QB, the season is almost certainly a disaster, and Kyle could very well be losing his job.  Wouldn’t it be best to spend your time with guys who have the potential to both win and keep your staff employed?

So it just might be time to sit down and talk to him about the reality of things.  Then point out he could go up to Weber and be a star at the FCS level.

Please don’t take any of this as a slam on Adam.  He’s a good guy and it’s not his fault he isn’t what we need as a Pac-12 QB.  It just seems like the coaches are making a lot of tough decisions now and this seems like one that should be made.
