Utah Hires Dave Christiansen As New OC

Since everyone is seeing this now, Dave Christiansen, the former Wyoming head coach and before that the Missouri OC.

The word is that Dennis Erickson and Brian Johnson will both lose there OC titles and be position coaches.

An Early Look at Social Media has a lot of Ute fans upset.  And a claim by none other that Lya herself that Dennis Erickson didn’t know about the changes.

And here is my early opinion…

This is a fantastic hire, if Ute fans want upgrades, this is how it happens.  Christiansen is a hell of an OC and has midwestern and southern recruiting contacts.    If what Lya said is true about Erickson, it may suck a little, but considering how Dennis has left a few jobs, he’s been around long enough to know how the game is played.  Don’t weep for Mr. Erickson.

Second, we knew Mr. Erickson was always short term for this gig as well.  When you get a chance like this, you have to take it.

FWIW I think you people should be quite happy about this one.
