Utah Hoops: Getting to Know UC Davis

Editor’s Note: This was the only photo in the database of UC Davis Basketball.  Yes I know these are women.

So tonight we play the Aggies…. Sadly not those Aggies… Of UC Davis.

UC Davis is the Ag school of the University of California System.  People I’ve know who’ve gone there seem to have enjoyed their time. I’ve never been to Davis, CA so I’m unsure if the smell of cow poop hangs in the air the way it does in Logan.

As for their basketball team, Tony Jones tweeted that they were, “a very good team.”  And then they lost to Portland, giving up 100 points and losing by 17.  So Utah just might get another shot at that all time Utah scoring record.  And wouldn’t we be proud to get it.

UC Davis is 1-1 on the year, losing to Portland and beating some school called, “Holy Names.”

Tony Jones claims that Corey Hawkins is the big name for UC Davis.  And I can see why after he went 3-11 against the mighty Pilots.  In fairness he did get to the free throw line 11 times and had 8 boards.

Dairus Graham and Josh Ritchart look to be their other scorers.

UC Davis is coached by former Jazz player Jim Les.  You kind of have to go in the WAY BACK to remember Jim Les.

As I was typing this Tony Jones against chastised me for not seeing the GREATNESS of UC Davis.
