There Is Nothing Finer Than To See Starlight in Carolina

Oh what a difference a poorly performed heart echo can make.

Star Lotulelei who was thought to be a top five lock right up until someone did a piss poor job on a heart echo is instead heading to the Carolina Panthers with the number 14 pick.  With Star joining former Ute standouts Steve Smith and Jordan Gross, Carolina has rapidly become Rice Eccles East.

While Star couldn’t have been happy to fall to 14, it was clear the Panthers were elated to get him as they exploded to the podium with their pick after the Jets screwed up err made their pick at 13.

As for my thoughts.  Star is a fantastic get if you have a defensive tackle hole.  He’s going to have a long career and your defensive tackle needs will be met for a decade.  In fact you have to wonder about all the teams who had DT needs and passed, seriously you should have believed the eight tests after the bad heart echo and not the original echo.

Now what this means for Utah, well if you are going to a school in the state of Utah and want to get to the NFL, it’s clear Utah is the school you go to.
