Utah Utes Athletics- Last Week In Review

This week we’ll start with the Lady Utes Basketball team.  They are currently the winners of 7-9 including completing a sweep of the Washington schools at home this weekend.  The Lady Utes are solidly in 6th place in the Pac-12 which is the best of any of the team sports right now.

And on the other side of that is the Utes Men’s team.  They lost again, this time to Colorado.  But they seemed to have played three solid games in a row, but at the end of the day that doesn’t pay the bills.  The four games remaining are against two teams playing for their lives in Cal and Stanford, one more who can’t take a loss to us and is getting Dominic Artis back in Oregon and then Oregon St. who seems to own us.  I wonder if the day will come that we can be positive about the Utes chances on a home swing.

On to gymnastics where the Red Rocks beat number 10 Stanford on the strength of a 10 on the floor from Lia Del Priore.

The Ute Baseball team swept UC Davis over the weekend to go to 4-2 on the season.  It’s hard to know what Utah baseball can do in the Pac-12 but not sucking is a very nice start.

And the Utah Softball team is 8-6-1 on the season and are 6-0-1 in their last seven games.  And before you wonder about the tie, it’s because of a drop dead time in order to make flights.

And finally I’m sure you all saw the news about Star Lotulelei.  Here is my article from yesterday if you missed it.  Let’s all wish Star the best and hope this is something correctable or at least something he can live a long life with.
