Utah Basketball: “Monumental” Win Over Willamette

facebooktwitterreddit

That is what someone on twitter called this game last night.

There isn’t a ton to write about in this game.  Willamette is who we were last year only two divisions lower and it looks like their best player didn’t play.  I think high school teams in Wyoming would challenge that team.

Now instead of the insults you’re about to hurl at me, could you people just listen because I’m just trying to temper enthusiasm.  And I do this because one person suggested that we might go .500 in the Pac-12 based on last nights performance.

Just remember when other teams have athletes too, Loveridge won’t get to the rack at will and none of our freshmen will simply be able to out talent anyone.

In fact why don’t we see where we are after Sac State in a week.  They’re at least a middle of the pack Big Sky team.  Not quite Weber but we’ll get the idea.  After that we have Central Michigan (bottom of MAC), Wright St. (bottom of Horizon), Idaho St. (bottom of Big Sky), SMU (bottom of CUSA) and Boise St. (bottom of MWC).  Wright St. went to Moscow and beat Idaho, so they’ve got that going for them.

It would seem Sac St. is probably the best team on our schedule till we head to Provo.

So lets at least look good against a D-1 team before we start making those final four reservations, ok kids.  I do this for your mental health, not mine.
