Utah Utes Football: Great… Just When Utah Needs a Break

So we all know that Utah badly needs a win for a lot of reasons.  And a couple of years ago, we’d have gotten one because UNLV or New Mexico would be just right around the corner.

Everyone kind of thought that Oregon St. would be that kind of tonic, this year.  Apparently, someone forgot to tell Mike Reilly and the Beavers that they were supposed to suck.  So instead of Utah having a solid chance of getting a win at Corvalis, we have the Beaver fans this excited.

When was the last time the Utes were this excited.  You see, the Beavers haven’t been 5-0 since 1939 and God knows if they’ve ever been 6-0.  Potato Salad Stadium is going to be filled to the brim with beaver juice.  And in the midst of all this, Utah is supposed to take our struggling team and get a win?

I liked what Travis Wilson did and despite one stupid mistake by a safety, the defense gave us enough to give us a chance.  And if only we had Wazzu coming to town.  But instead we’re walking into a Beaver Den, and no not the good kind.

So, if any of you kids can tell me why I should have some more hope than I do, I’m open to it.  Because right now I’m a little afraid.
