Utah Basketball: We Sign Another Recruit that 11 of 12 Pac-12 Teams Didn’t Want.
Utah basketball announced the signing of 6-5 guard Delon Wright from City College of San Francisco. His other offers were from Cal State Fullerton, University of San Francisco and Washington State University.
Now I hate to be the one who has to keep pointing this out, but since NO ONE else is even talking about it I will. Of all the players brought by Larry so far and all the recruits we’ve signed, we have one who was wanted by more than Washington St. in the Pac-12, and that is Jordan Loveridge. And before someone screams Aaron Dotson, no Pac-12 team wanted him after he left LSU and even Gonzaga passed.
And that leads me to the point that I’ve been yelling about for two years now but no one listens. How are we supposed to compete in the Pac-12 without landing Pac-12 talent. This plan that we seem to be developing, following the Utah St. model of Utah shooters plus JC guys and playing a really really really bad out of conference schedule isn’t going to work in a big boy league.
So here we are entering year two of the Larry Krystkowiak era and we still have no reason at all to think it will go beyond year four of the Larry Krystkowiak era. Utah will get to start all over again and that seems to concern no one but me.
