Pac-12 Football: What Is The Rest of The Conference Facing.

facebooktwitterreddit

As I write this, it’s Friday night and Stanford is in a battle with San Jose St.  Which means we’ve learned five things so far about the Pac-12.

1.  Washington St. is really bad and will have a long year.

2.  UCLA is better than expected although I’m not sold on the national title the way my friends at GoJoeBruin.com are.

3. Utah is very good but how close to great we don’t know.

4.  Stanford is coming back to earth harder than anyone expected.

5.  Arizona St. is willing to RUTS Northern Arizona.  Which at least confirms something we probably knew, Todd Graham is a big ol bag of douche.

So What Does The Rest of The Weekend Hold…

USC at Hawaii

Lane Kiffin is in his win it all before Barkley leaves and the sanctions start to really hurt mode.  Hawaii has a new coach in Norm Chow.  Kiffin is going for 100 in this.

Nevada at Cal

Nevada is supposed to not suck.  Jeff Tedford has become a riddle, wrapped in an enigma stuffed in a Napa Valley Pinot Noir.  If Cal is good they take care of bidness.  If not well…

Colorado St. vs Colorado at Mile High

I think Colorado will be better than expected, if that is true, they like Cal will take care of bidness against a CSU team with a new coach.

Toledo at Arizona

This game holds a special place for me because of Toledo’s relationship to Tom Amstutz and his place in one of the great internet pranks (ask me about it sometime if you don’t know).  This will be the debut of Rich Rod for ‘Zona.  Arizona will lack talent this year but Toledo is Toledo.  I would hope Zona wins.

Sandy Eggo St. v Washington

Sark has been all bark no bite, all sizzle no steak, all stripper no prostitute at his time at Washington.  What should be a decent SDSU team prepares to set sail for the Big East.  Of all the games so far, I think Sark must take care of bidness here or people besides me will start to talk.

Arkansas St. v Oregon

This game will teach us less than UNC v Utah.  Oregon will have cool uniforms and score a lot.  BTW Scottie Pippen did not got to Arkansas St.

Finally the Oregon St. v Nicholls St. postponement…

Oregon St. will likely play this game only if they need a sixth win to be bowl eligible.  The chances of OSU getting five other wins is unlikely.  Thanks for coming Mike Riley.
