We Have A Josh Portis Sighting…
So hear I am watching Denver vs. Seattle last night. Near the end of the game, Seattle inserts a QB named Josh Portis. Here is a brief description of Mr. Portis from Wikipeidia…
"Josh Portis (born July 14, 1987) is an American football quarterback for theSeattle Seahawks of the National Football League. He was signed by the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent in 2011. He was highly touted as one of the nation’s top dual-threat quarterback prospects out of high school. Portis attended the University of Florida for one season and then transferred to the University of Maryland. In 2009, he transferred again to Division II California University of Pennsylvania, where he set school records with 3,421 passing yards, 36 touchdowns and 3,870 total offensive yards."
What the story doesn’t tell us is that Mr. Portis was once a Utah commit and that he only bolted for Florida after Urban Meyer left, thinking himself too good for us. He then bolted Florida for Maryland after a young man named Tim Tebow showed up, not that you’ve ever heard of Mr. Tebow.
Not sure what happened at Maryland, but he played a season and left.
So finally he ended up at California University which it turns out isn’t in California at all. It seems he also spent last season on the Seahawks roster. Although with how much Russell Wilson played last night, you have to wonder if he’ll be doing it again this year.
You also have to wonder, if he doesn’t consider himself too good for Utah, how much better his career and draft status might have turned out.
Food for thought and like Hoyos Revenge on Facebook and Twitter if you can.
