Utah Football: I’m Starting To Get A Bad Feeling…

facebooktwitterreddit

As a Ute fan it’s hard to stop the doubt from creeping into your head.  Even two BCS Bowls in eight years can’t make this part of being a Ute go away.

First the Keith McGill injury happened and no one thought much of it, because injuries do happen.  But then JC offensive line and Twitter star Mark Pouvave tore his Achilles and I thought…

Come on… Not this year…

And then we find out about Brian Blechen’s three game suspension for “undisclosed” reasons.

Crap… Crap… Crap…

Here come those thoughts…

Can’t stop them now.

Utah has had a few seasons derailed by injury.  Last season of course is the most obvious.  God knows how far a healthy Jordan Wynn and some O-line depth takes us.  2007 could have been close to 2008 except for a very warm night in Corvallis where the first half saw our RB break his leg and a shoulder injury to our QB.

1996 was one of the worst years.  I’m not sure we had a healthy defensive player by the time BYU came to RES and blew us out (the last time that happened BTW).

So if I could have a wish at this point, it’s that injuries stay at a minimum and that my thoughts of doom and gloom go away at least until week two.
