Utah Football: Preview and Prediction for Arizona St.

Editors Note:  I started a preview and prediction for each Utah game and then got away from it after a series of holidays.  Here are links to the previous three and the preview and prediction for Arizona St.

In case you missed them:
Game One: Utah Vs Northern Colorado August 30, 2012
Game Two: Utah at Utah St. September 7, 2012
Game Three: Utah vs BYU September 15, 2012

Arizona St., for those of you who don’t know is a university in Tempe, AZ.  According to Wikipedia, it has 72,000 students on all of its campuses.  Most of the women who go there are hoping for work in the porn or exotic dancing industry.  Also a little known fact is their male student body purchases more Affliction and Ed Hardy T-shirts per-capita than any campus in the nation.

As for predictions, to bring you up to date, I believe we’ll beat UNC and Utah St., in what might be called lackluster performances, probably calling no more than 10 different offensive plays.  Then we will come out and curb stomp BYU.

I envision the Utes heading to Arizona St. 3-0.

What will we see from Arizona St.?

We’re going to see essentially what we saw when we went to Pitt last year.  Arizona St. will give us a heavy dose of Cameron Marshall.  Especially because they don’t have a quarterback or not one that anyone knows anything about.  We’ll also see far fewer personal fouls with the graduation of Vontaze Burfict.  Outside of that ASU won’t have much to offer this season.  Combine that with the fact that I don’t think much of Todd Graham and I think we’ve found a team to battle Colorado for six place in the Pac-12 South.

As for what this means for Utah.  This was one of the games where we were forced to go to our DII QB before we were just settled on handing the ball to John White the IV 72 times a game.    If the good Lord smiles upon Utah we will not have to hear the name Jon Hays except in mop up duty.   If we have a healthy Jordan Wynn I fully expect that the Utes will take Arizona St. apart.  It will still be early in the year, our defense is going to be in full stride and our offense will have found itself by the fourth game.

Call it something like Utah 34-ASU 13.
