Utah Utes Basketball Recruit: Givon Crump is visiting New Mexico State
So just as I say I don’t like to write stories that are essentially links to other stories, I’m giving you two in one day.
According to this blog and our main man at the Salt Lake Tribune Bill Oram, the recruit Larry desperately needs to make us all feel better about two straight roster purges, Givon Crump, is tripping to New Mexico State this weekend.
For those of you who don’t know Crump, he originally committed to Baylor, then left for Fresno. When the staff at Fresno was canned, Crump moved on to Pasadena Community College where he averaged 20.3 pts, 7 boards and shot 38% from three. He is by all accounts a good kid and the moves were simply a set of odd circumstances and not a red flag.
The red flag however is this, our competition for the kid is New Mexico State and Cal State Fullerton.
Honestly how have we not locked this down?
It will be interesting to see how this all sorts itself out but we’ve got to be worried when a kid looks at Utah and says, yeah but let me think about New Mexico St too.
We’ll keep you updated
