My Kingdom for an Offensive Coordinator…

facebooktwitterreddit

We knew before the Sun Bowl that Norm Chow had decided to take his last shot at a Head Coaching job and return home to Hawaii.  (Seriously Hawaii, how did you not make this hire in 1992)?  Soon thereafter, Dave Schramm, who obviously wasn’t going to be a candidate to return to the OC position at Utah, headed to Fresno.  Since then, Utah fans have been asking one question…

WHO WILL BE THE NEW OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR…

At one point a rumor that spread quickly that it might be former BYU head coach Gary Crowton.  But that seems to have come and gone.  And here we are, close to signing day and we still do not have an offensive coordinator.  And that means we don’t have an offense either and not just in the Jon Hays can’t throw a forward pass sense either.

So who is it going to be?

That answer my friend is blowin’ in the wind.  Because it seems nobody knows.

As I’ve said here frequently, Kyle isn’t Larry and gets A LOT more leeway when it comes to his decision making.  And I get the idea that we need to find the right guy.  But COME ON MAN.  Are we like the only school in the nation without an OC?

I think my bigger question is, HOW DO WE KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THIS?  Its one of the great questions on earth is what do Salt Lake sports writers do all day.  Do they literally just sit around waiting for the Utah and BYU athletic departments to send out press releases?

Could this possibly happen at another school?

In any event, I’m just wildly curious to find out how this tale of sound and fury ends.  Hopefully Kyle’s hire doesn’t “signify nothing.”
