Farewell Jiggy, probably wished you’d have gone Division II right about now

Goodbye Jiggy.

I’m not sure what else is left to say about this.  I think this is Larry’s final step to play CYA for a season that is far worse than they thought it would be.  A lot of people don’t.  Plus the debate is old, so let’s look on to what we have next season.

The team as we can best guess next year…

Aaron Dotson 6′ 4″
Glen Dean 5′ 10″
Chris Hines 6′ 0″
Kareem Storey 5′ 10″
Jason Washburn 6′ 10″
Jordan Loveridge 6′ 7″
Justin Seymore 6′ 3″
Josh Hearliy 6′ 6″
Jeremy Olsen 6′ 10″
Dallin Bachynski 7′ 0″

That leaves three open spots.  George Matthews is an almost certain transfer.  Odunsi hasn’t shown any real reason he should stay.  Its also not like we couldn’t find better JC’s than the ones we have.  The question mark is, does David Foster come back.  The team could clearly use him, it just depends on if he’s done or not.  We’re told Larry is still recruiting so this is up in the air.

But the bigger question becomes, is there anything about this roster that says, we’re going to be better than 17 games or so not even next year but the year after?  Because this will be the group that takes us forward as Larry will have had 2 complete roster makeovers to himself, surely he wouldn’t be given a third.  If this is a team that can win 22+ then we’ve made a good decision.

If not we’ve gone to a whole lot of trouble to be about the level Ray Giacolletti and Jim Boylen we’re at when they were fired.

And in case you’ve never gotten it that is the issue I’ve been screaming about for so very long.

Utah Hoops just keeps living in interesting times.

Here is also and addition to the post as I was just told Majerus would have never tolerated Jiggy.  I would believe that if I hadn’t seen Rick keep Darrol Wright around till he was actually arrested for possession of Marijuana.  I also saw Marc Jackson spending an entire season in open defiance of Majerus on the court for an entire season.  Who can forget Majerus telling Jackson after he was on the bench and Drisdom led us to an overtime win that, “Turns out we don’t need you” or words to that effect, probably also with more swearing.  I think part of our issue is that the myth of what Majerus did is different than what Rick actually did in the way the myth of Reagan for modern Republicans is quite different than how Reagan was.
