Utah Utes Basketball: Princeton Onwas Is Out

As everyone knows by now, Princeton Onwas is leaving the University of Utah basketball team.  And not by his own choice.

I find this disappointing for several reasons, a few I’ll save for tomorrow.  But this is how the game is played and I don’t blame Larry and staff for playing it aggressively. When you take over for two coaches fired two years after championships, I suppose you know how quickly any amount of good will can go away.

Also, while I don’t have information on this, don’t assume the hoops team is done making changes.  If we’ve learned anything, there is no loyalty in all of this.

As for Princeton, the guy was a tireless worker and did some very athletic things.  Seemed like a good guy all around.  I hope he gets to finish it out somewhere great.
