It’s not often a team can have up too three bowl games in a season.  But Utah can and the first one is today.

Do to a variety of circumstances I’m sure you’re all aware the Utes have put themselves in a must win situation heading to Pullman, WA today. Wazzu finds themselves needing to win either today or next week in the Apple Cup in Seattle in order to secure their own bowl bid.

So it will be interesting to say the least.

And the game plans are oddly clear.  Wazzu wants to throw it all over the field while Utah will want to run the ball and play defense.  Although with Adam Schulz having another week as starter, I expect more of the offense to be available with him, especially with the continued return of Jake Murphy.

So what do I think.  Well I think Utah has played tough the entire season.  Even at USC the defense played a wonder of a game.  And I think after a season of turmoil it feels like we’ve finally got some stability.  Not to mention we’re not playing Wazzu and not, Oregon St. or UCLA or Arizona St.  I think all of that comes together and pays off.

Part of it is irrational as I just think the Utes feel like they are due today.  We’ve been so close and so much has gone askew, for reasons out of the team’s control.

Today is our day.

I’ll be back with halftime and post game comments.
