So since coming to the Pac-12 we have not fared too well against the Sun Devils.  We’ve been blown out twice, both times on the heels of QB changes.  So if Travis Wilson’s hand isn’t where it needs to be, I could go ahead and end this conversation right about now.

But if it isn’t Utah just might make this game interesting. Now I can hear you doubting me so bear with me.

First if you saw USC light up Oregon St. in Corvallis, maybe you’ve realized that USC is playing just a bit better than they were under Mr. Kiffin.  So our giant pile of flaming turd of a game there was much more like a small non-flaming pile of turds.  One in which the defense played quite well.

And that brings us too the offense.  Dennis Erickson has seen everything, been in EVERY SITUATION and he and Kyle have had a week to think about what direction to go.  And like they suggested, it probably involves slowing down the game, a bit more ball control and seeing if we can’t force Arizona St to be very Arizona St. like and blow a late season game.

ASU is the better team right now and should win this game.  But this Utah team has fought all year long.  Even against USC the defense kept doing enough to keep us around.  Don’t be surprised, if like a cornered animal this team comes out swinging.

I’ll call my shot right now.  Utes in an upset.
