Not Shocked, Just Ecstatic

The Utes won straight up. Everything that needed to happen in order for the Utes to win…well happened. We won the turnover battle and Wilson out played Hogan.

Stanford had only allowed 12 first quarter points all season. The Utes put up an easy 14. Utah showed up to win, and it was obvious from the beginning.

Honestly, I’m not giving in to the whole #ShockStanford thing because this game was no surprise to me. All around the country, this game was circled as the upset of the week. Utah is the best under-the-radar team in the country. And yes, that includes being better than the Mizzou team that went into Athens and upset Georgia. But after today, the country is taking notice. Suddenly, the OSU and UCLA losses are working in our favor. Those close losses prove that that Utah is for real and can compete with anyone in the country at home.

Rice-Eccles is quickly getting a reputation as one of the toughest places to play in the PAC 12, and rightfully so. And look at that, we even waited until the game was over to rush the field!

Sure it’ll be a whole new test going on the road next week, but I like our chances. This team has more heart and character than any Utah team since2008.

And let me just say…WHY DID THEY THROW TO THE ENDZONE ON 3RD and 4TH down?!?!?!? But hey, I’ll take it. Our defense played outstanding.
