Utah v TDS: The Spencer Hadley Suspension

It seems TDS player Spencer Hadley was suspended for five games today.  Now I don’t know what this means other than TDS zealots now have their excuse for losing this years game.  BYU Honor Code Office spokesperson Carri Jenkins would not specify why Hadley was suspended.  As a side note, does anyone know what Carri Jenkins looks like?  Because Carri Jenkins is a hot girls name but I doubt the Honor Code Office spokesperson is a hot girl.  So I’m conflicted.

Anyway, that’s not why I’m here.  It seems a post on the ever reliable Cougarboard.com broke down the reasons for the Hadley suspension.  Now when you read the post, you’ll understand why those fine Cougarboarders quickly deleted it.  However, lets say thank you and God Bless Google Cache for saving this for us.

You can read the entire post here.

It says in part…

The Tribune has pictures as recent as last night of Hadley in Vegas with BYU booster Jacob Stocking. The NCAA is launching an investigation in regards to trips on Stockings private jet, Cash loans paid to Hadley, the use of Stockings vehicles, staying in high priced Vegas Suites, indulging in Champagne parties with Las Vegas Cocktail Waitress’s. Also reports of the use of the Drug (Molly) and Alcohol use among Hadley.

Now I don’t know if it’s true.  But I really want it to be mostly to imagine BYU boosters getting funky down in Vegas.

So read and judge for yourself.

I understand you are just sharing a rumor, but I don’t buy it. While I don’t have any inside source, 3 reasons why that isn’t what happened, starting with the strongest.
    1. The punishment (5 game suspension) doesn’t match the crime. The type of incident you reported as rumor would call for much more than 5 games at any school besides BYU. Those are serious NCAA infractions that would bring with them harsh penalties. At BYU, that would most assuredly be the end of his time at BYU as a student and athlete.
    2. I don’t believe BYU has boosters that would take an active player to LV to party. If you are a big time financial supporter of Bronco’s program, you believe what he is preaching. No way a booster of this team is living it up with active players. I just don’t think that is plausible.
    3. Hadley is a quality guy. Do people stray from the straight and narrow, sure. I assume we all do at some point. Even a past Returned Missionary who served as an AP can mess up. But by all accounts, he has never been even rumored for these types of actions. Again, it’s possible just not in line with his character.

      1. This would call for much more than 5 games if it were ALL true. There is a big difference between a night out of drinking in Vegas vs. a night with drinking, drug use, and escorts. So, who knows what actually happened and what the facts paid before BYU were.

      2. My father is an active financial supporter and he’d rat anyone out he knew of who did this. But, all it takes is one bad apple.
