I’ve thought about this essentially from the end of the Oregon St. game, mostly because I didn’t want to sit and linger over a game being so close yet so far away.

But here it is nearing Monday evening and I’ve come to one conclusion…

Unless Utah craps the bed, I mean like the guy in Trainspotting did coming off of heroin, I just can’t see Utah losing this game.

And I’ll start with the Team Down South.  It starts with their quarterback who went 9 for 26 against Texas and who is 22 of 66 for the season.  That means BYU is one thing, one dimensional.  I know fans of Provo Tech think things are different because of the return of Dr. Anae, but two things hit me there.  First, Anae never dominated the Utes, in fact his wins required some miracle to happen.  And even if things are wildly better, I don’t see Kyle and Kalani getting beat down by a team that is so very one dimensional.

Then we come to their defense, which is very good.  But it was very good last year and our offenseless offense did enough.  We’re an order of magnitude better this year.

Not to mention Utah is playing the wounded animal part right now.  The Utes are fighting for their bowl lives.  While the Team Down South has been strutting thinking that Mack Brown being not a smart man had nothing to do with their domination of Texas (not noticing that Texas got dominated again last week).

So yeah, maybe I’m a homer and being myopic, but right now, I just don’t see how the Utes lose.
