March Madness: USC Suspends Dedmon, Blasczyk after Spokane Fight

facebooktwitterreddit

USC has suspended two players indefinitely after a fight in downtown Spokane following the Trojans loss to Washington St in basketball.

So what does this mean for the Pac-12 tournament game against Utah?

While Blasczyk did not play against Utah, Dewayne Dedmon controlled the game.  Dedmon had 13 points, 13 rebounds and 5 blocks and was a menace to the Utes all night long.

With Dedmon out the Utes chances to pull an upset in this game have greatly improved.  USC shot 50% from the field including Dedmon going 4-5 while the Utes shot only 37%.  One would have to think without Dedmon standing there blocking and altering shots the Utes shooting would improve.  One would also think that USC’s shooing would drop as they wouldn’t have Dedmon dominating down low.

USC did however have five players score in double figures in the game against the Utes and they are still athletic enough to give the Utes a whole host of problems.

As for USC, well it’s hard to feel sorry for them.  If they’re letting their players roam the streets of Spokane after midnight and end up at a place like the Satellite, well they’re just asking for problems.  For those who don’t know, I lived in Spokane for awhile and fights at the Satellite are essentially a nightly occurrence.

You have to watch your team.
