Utah Utes Football: Wynn Will Ute Fans Ever Change Their Mind

While many of us, and rightly so, are concerned about the durability of Jordan Wynn, there are a certain subset of fans who continue to think that Jordan Wynn is not a good QB.

Now this isn’t unusual among Ute fans, there were those among us who insisted that Brian Johnson wasn’t a a very good quarterback.  One Ute fan I know continually said he didn’t have, “it.”  Another said after the 2007 game that Brian Johnson wasn’t a real QB, Max Hall was.  So I don’t take this all too seriously.  But it is something that persists among Ute fans.

When I dared tweet some excitement about Wynn and how he was looking in the spring, thoughts confirmed by this article by Kurt Kragthorpe, I got a few, “I just don’t think Wynn has it,” comments.  They weren’t I’m worried about his durability, they were, he’s not very good.  The thing is, outside of the injury issue Wynn has done a lot of very nice things for us.  When healthy, he’s shown why this staff has shown such a great deal of faith in him.

So I wonder, what will it take for Ute fans to change their mind about Jordan Wynn.

I think most Ute fans have completely unrealistic expectations when it comes to QB. He makes smart plays to make up what used to be his size problems. But you know if he throws a pick early in the BYU games fans are going to be throwing a fit thinking a true freshman will be better.
