If a Blackout Game Happens…

And no one attends, was it really a black out.

I think this is an important question to ask as Utah prepares to host its first Pac-12 game against the mighty Cougars of Washington State.

Now I’ve decided to start taking it easy on the marketing people at the University of Utah.  They are really bad but also have no money and no one who wants to allow them to do anything actually interesting, so we’re going to get repeated things like blackouts.

The problem here is we have no fans going to hoop games.  And all the seats in the arena are red.  So unless we’ve bought 12,000 trashbags, its not going to be very effective.

I think what should perhaps happen is that the marketing team should embrace how awful this team is.  What if they just started running commercials that say,

“COME SEE HISTORY IN ACTION.”

Then go on to explain that this is easily the worst team in Utah History maybe the worst team in major conference hoops history and God Willing it will never happen again.  The go on to explain the record of futility that you’ll be able to tell your kids that you’ve seen.

I’ve discovered in life that things are the best when you are willing to own who you are.  Instead of all the crap and smoke being shot out about this team, how about we own how miserable it is.

At least it would be fun and unique.
